Julia Mulligan has been North Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner since November 2012, and was re-elected in May 2016. Julia was a founding member of the new National Rural Crime Network and was appointed as its inaugural Chair, in the summer of 2014 – a post that she still holds. She Chairs the Police Reform and Transformation Board, helping to set the future direction of policing in the UK.
In November 2018, responsibility for governance and oversight of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service transferred to Julia as the elected North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
Julia is the Lead of the APCC Portfolio Group on Transparency & Integrity and is the Deputy Lead of the APCC Portfolio Group on Victims.
