Steve Turner
Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland
01642 301861

Steve was elected Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland in May 2021.

He has lived in the Cleveland area with his family all his life and his understanding of the region, the community and its challenges is second to none.

As a young man, Steve was very involved with sport and represented the area playing basketball at a national level before “retiring” into the local rugby scene. Steve is married with three sons between the ages of 23 and 27 and he’s also a grandfather.

Before being elected as the PCC for Cleveland, Steve was the Chief of Staff to two local MPs and worked alongside a fantastic team of people who worked diligently to support over 140,000 constituents. This role has allowed him to get involved in many campaigns that local people feel strongly about and has given him first-hand knowledge of the day-to-day issues residents are facing relating to crime.
