APCC Chair congratulates those who received Honours in the New Year's Honours List
In congratulating all those who received Honours in the New Year's Honours List today, APCC Chair Paddy Tipping said:
“Police and Crime Commissioners would like to congratulate everyone who is receiving New Year’s Honours for their hard work and community service. From the highest-ranking police officers to the volunteers selflessly giving their time helping the most vulnerable in our communities – you are all heroes.
“We will all be glad to see the back of 2020. The pandemic has brought disruption to our daily lives and we have lost loved ones before their time. But this year has also shown our society in its best light, with people pulling together and finding innovative ways to continue to support each other.
“Unfortunately, while the new year brings renewed hope, the virus is still very much with us. We ask people to resist the urge to gather to celebrate tonight, not just for the sake of the emergency services workers trying to keep us safe, but for the sake of each other too.”
