APCC Response to Police Workforce Statistics (1)

Ron Hogg PCC, APCC Portfolio Lead for Workforce Planning said:

“Today’s police workforce figures again show the challenge that the service is facing. The number of police officers, staff and PCSOs continue to fall at a time when the demands on the police and the expectations of the public continue to rise.

“Police and Crime Commissioners and Police Chiefs have called for a dialogue with Home Office ministers around medium term prospects for Police workload and funding. We know that financial resources are more likely to be further stretched than relaxed and PCCs have made clear that the opportunities for further straightforward efficiencies have diminished.”
