Second Reading of Victims and Prisoners Bill

APCC Joint Victims Leads Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones and Deputy Mayor Sophie Linden, said: "We are pleased to see the Victims and Prisoners’ Bill having second reading today and welcome the prominence of PCCs within the Bill as key advocates for victims locally.
"If the government is truly committed to delivering for victims through this Bill then we must see long-term and sustainable investment to support and expand services, and allow innovative and collaborative use of funding across local areas.
"The Bill should be a pivotal piece of legislation but it needs strengthening. We look forward to the critical scrutiny as it progresses to ensure it delivers for victims."
