APCC Equality, Diversity, and Human Rights Joint Lead, Alison Lowe OBE, responds to the publication of the NPCC and College of Policing’s Race Action Plan: Improving Policing for Black People:
"As the public's voice in policing Police & Crime Commissioners and Mayors recognise the importance of improving confidence and trust in policing amongst all our communities, and in particular, Black communities where we know confidence is low.
"I welcome the fresh energy that's being invested by chief constables into tackling the disparities faced by black people in policing & criminal justice."
