Katy Bourne OBE, APCC Lead for the new Business and Retail Crime portfolio and PCC for Sussex discusses business crime and the important role of partnerships.
"One of the key problems is local businesses are not reporting crime to the police, who then aren't even aware of a lot of crime that happens . To counter this, we've introduced One Touch Reporting, working with the Co-op and National Business Crime Solutions. In Sussex, this has reduced the reporting time for crimes in retail from about 30 minutes to only two, really improving confidence of retailers and staff. We've also set up a Business Crime Partnership. And now this work is spreading to all PCC areas nationally."
