Sophie Linden, APCC Joint Lead for Victims Portfolio
Sophie Linden, APCC Joint Lead for Victims and Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime in London, provides an update on her national portfolio.
"One of the major responsibilities PCCs have is to commission services for victims and make sure we commission really brilliant services for women and girls who have been victims of violence. There is still a long way to go to eradicate the epidemic of violence against women and girls.
"Some of the successes has been the increased the additional funding that we've lobbied for so that Police and Crime Commissioners are able to invest more in their local areas for victims' services. We have worked incredibly well and developed that relationship with Chief Constables and the National Police Chiefs' Council as well as Ministers. But there is still a long way to go."
